Stephen Crompton is a British filmmaker and photographer currently serving as a Lecturer at Bowling Green State University's Department of Theatre and Film within the College of Arts & Sciences. His work focuses on exploring the American-made landscape through film and photography. Prior to joining BGSU, he held roles as Media Production Coordinator and Lecturer at the University of Tampa and served as a graduate instructor at the University of Iowa.
His films have been showcased internationally at festivals including Sarasota Film Festival, Virginia Film Festival, San Francisco Documentary Festival, Indie Grits, Athens Film and Video Festival, and Sidewalk Film Festival. Crompton received two MFA degrees from the University of Iowa - one in Film & Video Production and another in Studio Art: Photography - along with a BA in Film and Television Studies from Aberystwyth University in Wales.
He has received recognition for his work, including the Best Short Award at the 29th Dallas VideoFest. His teaching experience spans both film production and photography, covering documentary production, fiction production, screenwriting, advanced post-production, and digital imaging.
