Sandra Lee serves as a Professor in the Writing for Film and Television Department at Biola University's Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts, where she teaches courses including Screenwriting I/II, Film and Television Adaptation, and production coursework. Her extensive academic career spans top film institutions including The Los Angeles Film School (as Professor and Director of Digital Filmmaking), Emerson College (Artist-in-Residence in Screenwriting), Baylor University (Assistant Professor), and Regis University's Colorado Film School (Associate Professor and Chair of Film).
Lee holds an MFA in Film and Television Producing from Chapman University, where she received the Cecil Award for Best Graduate Picture of the Year, and a B.S. in Communications, Television/Radio Production from Bradley University. Prior to academia, she gained industry experience at Miramax Films, Columbia Pictures, Wendy Finerman Productions, and ICM Partners in roles spanning marketing, development, and talent representation.
Her research focuses on practical filmmaking techniques across narrative, documentary, and animated formats, emphasizing visual storytelling and high-end production workflows. Lee actively explores multilingual narratives and innovative cinematography approaches, as demonstrated in projects like "In The Boston Streets" which utilized complex Steadicam long takes.
