Stephen Criniti is a Professor of English at West Liberty University's College of Liberal and Creative Arts. His academic work focuses on literature, particularly exploring intersections of gender, race, and identity in autobiographical and fictional texts.
Research Interests
- Examining gender dynamics in 20th-century British literature, including Stevie Smith's subversive contributions to 'Chick Lit' traditions
- Analyzing autobiographical narratives of African American women, such as Elizabeth Keckley's exploration of dressmaking as self-making
- Investigating material culture in personal narratives and its role in identity construction
