Felipe Rojas is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at West Liberty University, affiliated with the College of Liberal and Creative Arts’ Modern Languages department. He coordinates Study Abroad programs and holds office in Elbin Library. His research focuses on 16th- and 17th-century Spanish literature, queer studies, and the intersection of mythology with political and religious themes in Golden Age theater.

Rojas explores veiled sexual references in theater and their political implications, as well as children’s games in literature. His work includes analyzing Tirso de Molina’s religiously layered character Ismael and Agustín Moreto’s use of ekphrasis. He co-edits a forthcoming Brill collection, Queering the Mediterranean, examining queer themes in Mediterranean literature across medieval and early modern eras.
