Stephen Charry

Stephen Charry is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Hartford, affiliated with the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions. As a certified prosthetist and orthotist, he instructs courses in Lower Limb Prosthetics (Transtibial and Transfemoral), Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Orthopedic Pathology, and Scientific Inquiry.

Dr. Charry’s research focuses on prosthetic componentry and socket technology. He provides clinical care at Hanger Clinic in the Hartford area, specializing in lower extremity prosthetics within hospital-based settings. His professional interests include evidence-based practice initiatives through the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists, where he serves on the Evidence-Based Practice Committee, and international outreach via the non-profit Dreaming and Working Together, which delivers prosthetic care to underserved regions.

He consults on industry grants and collaborates with colleagues in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences for research activities. Dr. Charry’s work bridges academic instruction, clinical practice, and global health engagement.
