Matthew Parente

Matthew Parente serves as the Program Director of Prosthetics and Orthotics and holds a Clinical Assistant Professor position in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford. He coordinates internship courses for the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) program and teaches within the Doctorate program in Physical Therapy.

His professional focus centers on advancing orthotic and prosthetic education through curriculum coordination, program development, and outcomes assessment. He actively participates in the National Commission of Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration within rehabilitation sciences.

Scientific honors include Fellow with Distinction from the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists and certification as a Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO). Parente played a pivotal role in establishing the MSPO program at the University of Hartford and integrates clinical expertise with academic leadership to enhance student training and professional standards.
