Dr. Stephen Case is a Professor and Director of the University Honors Program at Olivet Nazarene University, where he is affiliated with the Department of Chemistry and Geosciences in the School of STEM. He teaches planetary astronomy, physics, and courses on the history of science and science and theology.

Dr. Case specializes in the history of 19th-century science, particularly the work of John Herschel. His research explores the historical and cultural aspects of stellar astronomy, science accessibility for the middle class, and the intersection of science with theology. He is recognized as a leading Herschel scholar, examining how Herschel transformed natural philosophy into modern science through mathematics and new technologies like the steam press.

As Honors Program Director, Dr. Case mentors high-achieving students and oversees curriculum development. He led the complete refurbishment of ONU's Strickler Planetarium, converting it from an analogue slide system to a full-dome digital multimedia platform. His international engagement includes teaching in Italy through the International Planetarium Society exchange program and serving on the Biennial Workshop on the History of Astronomy organizing committee.
