Stephen Borys is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Winnipeg, affiliated with the History department under the Cultural Studies Faculty. He serves as Director and CEO of the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG) and Qaumajuq in Canada, focusing on Indigenization and decolonization of cultural institutions. His career spans leadership and curatorial roles at The Ringling Museum of Art, Allen Art Museum, National Gallery of Canada, and Canadian Centre for Architecture.

His research and professional work emphasizes museum leadership, curatorial innovation, and cultural policy. He has organized exhibitions, authored scholarly articles, and secured research/exhibition grants.
