Stephen Bishop is a Professor of French at the University of New Mexico (UNM), where he has served since 2000. His academic journey includes roles as Associate Professor (2007–2022), Visiting Professor at the University of Yaoundé I (2014–2015), and holds a Ph.D. in French and Francophone Literature from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on postcolonial African identities, child soldiers, law and literature in African contexts, and Cameroonian culture. Notable awards include the Fulbright award (2014–2015).
