Dr. Stephanie Zandee is a researcher at the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro), a McGill University research and teaching institute specializing in neurological disorders. Her work focuses on understanding multiple sclerosis brain lesion evolution at molecular levels using advanced single-cell approaches and machine learning methodologies.
Her research interests center on neuroimmunological diseases, particularly multiple sclerosis. The Zandee lab employs
- fluorescent imaging techniques
- single-cell and bulk RNA-sequencing
- tissue clearing with light sheet microscopy
- machine learning pattern recognition
- human MS brain tissue analysis
- mouse models of MS (EAE)
- confocal microscopy
- human primary brain cell culture
- flow cytometry on rapid autopsy brain tissue
Prior to her current position at McGill, Dr. Zandee completed a postdoctoral fellowship and research associateship at the Centre de Recherche du CHUM (Université de Montréal) in Dr. Alexandre Prat's laboratory, where she led the Prat lab's MS and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) brain bank and rapid autopsy program.
