Stephanie Yuhl is the W. Arthur Garrity, Sr., Professor in Human Nature, Ethics and Society at the College of the Holy Cross, Department of History. Her work bridges historical scholarship with public engagement, focusing on gender, sexuality, and social movements in 20th-century America. She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University.
Her research explores how public memory shapes cultural narratives through projects like LGBTQ+ Worcester For The Record and A Golden Haze of Memory. She has pioneered digital humanities initiatives including 3D museum tours and community-driven archives. Awards include the Willie Lee Rose Prize (2006) and Donal J. Burns Teaching Medal (2017).
