Stephanie Wooster

Stephanie Wooster is a part-time Senior Lecturer in Fashion Textiles with a specialism in knit and stitch at the University of the West of England, affiliated with the Department of ACE – Creative and Cultural Industries within the School of Art and Design. She teaches on the BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles program and leads key level 5 modules, including Developing Practice in Fashion Textiles 1 and Professional Practice and Work Experience in Fashion Textiles 2, overseeing their development and implementation.

Her research focuses on textile design, haptic objects, experiential design, and widening participation in creative education. She is actively involved in creative communities as a member of the Visual Culture Research Group (VCRG), the Society of Designer Craftsmen, and a founding member of the interdisciplinary exhibiting group iD-artists. Her work explores sensory engagement in textiles and the cultural significance of knitting and mending.

Stephanie has presented at significant conferences such as Futurescan4, Making Futures, and VCRG symposia, and exhibited in venues including the Crafts Council and Bristol City Museum and Gallery. She contributes to curriculum development through the ADCM Curriculum Review Group, shaping educational practices across the School of Art and Design.
