Stephanie Van Stee, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on health message design, examining how individual, contextual, and message-related factors influence persuasion in health communication.

Van Stee’s work bridges theoretical and applied health communication, with recent publications exploring mHealth interventions, metaphorical messaging, and online cancer information seeking. Selected Research Themes: Persuasion, mHealth, tailored messaging, cognitive processing in health campaigns, and health literacy. Her methodological approach often includes meta-analyses and experimental studies.
