Dr. Lotte van Poppel is an Assistant Professor in Speech Communication and Discourse Analysis at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts. She specializes in argumentation theory, health communication, and metaphor studies. Her research focuses on persuasive strategies in behavioral change communication, particularly examining resistance to persuasion and metaphor usage in medical contexts. She co-founded the Argumentatieplatform, a Dutch research network on argumentation and persuasion.
