Stephanie Rolph is an Associate Professor of History at Millsaps College, where she has served since 2010. She currently holds the position of Interim Provost and Dean of the College, and serves as Book Review Editor for the Journal of Mississippi History. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Rolph graduated from Millsaps College in 1999, earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in History from Mississippi State University (2009), and authored the acclaimed Resisting Equality: The Citizens' Council, 1954-1989 (2018), recognized as the best book on Mississippi History in 2019. Her research focuses on 20th-century political and intellectual history, particularly the U.S. South and civil rights resistance movements.
Her publications include contributions to the Journal of Women’s History and Journal of Southern History, as well as a foreword for the re-released The South Strikes Back (2022). Her work examines white supremacist organizations like the Citizens’ Council, analyzing their global ideological connections and long-term impact on civil rights struggles.
