Stephanie Rohner

Dr Stephanie Rohner is a University Assistant Professor of Colonial Latin American Literature and Culture at the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics, University of Cambridge, affiliated with Christ's College. Her research examines the transatlantic circulation of indigenous literary, historiographical, and visual discourses.

• Education: MA, MPhil, PhD in Spanish from Yale University

Her work focuses on how modern ideas about the pre-Columbian past in Latin America were shaped during the Enlightenment, particularly through figures like Mexican Jesuit Francisco Javier Clavigero. She explores the interplay of European antiquarian studies, philosophy, and science with indigenous knowledge systems.
