Stephanie Miller is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Provost Faculty Research Scholar for Institutional Transformation at the University of Mississippi. She is affiliated with the Department of Psychology within the College of Liberal Arts. Her research focuses on early cognitive development, particularly executive function (EF), examining its sociocultural context, relationships with communication, social functioning, and creativity. She leads the CUB Lab and teaches courses such as Developmental Psychology and Advanced Developmental Psychology.
Education: M.A. (2007) and Ph.D. (2012) in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Research interests include executive function development, creativity, cross-cultural studies of child development, and the impact of mindfulness-based interventions. Her work spans Latin America, addressing socio-economic disparities and cultural influences on early skills.
Her recent articles highlight trends in mindful interventions, screen time effects, and embodied cognition's role in creativity and EF. She emphasizes culturally responsive research and translational educational strategies.
