Stephanie Lauer

Dr. Stephanie Lauer is a Lecturer at Saint Anselm College (STAC), where she teaches General Biology, Biochemistry, and Genetics. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology from New York University (2019) and previously earned a B.S. in Biology from Rider University.

Her research focuses on synthetic biology, genome rearrangements, and CRISPR-based genetic engineering. At STAC, she has mentored student projects on biofuel production and the extracellular matrix of cancer cells. She aims to integrate experimental evolution into STAC’s research programs.

Dr. Lauer’s publications highlight her work on synthetic yeast chromosomes, genome organization, and copy number variant dynamics. She collaborates with the Build-A-Genome Class and uses cutting-edge techniques like CRISPR and 3D genome analysis.
