Dai Junbiao

Professor Dai Junbiao is affiliated with the Agricultural Genomes Institute at Shenzhen (AGIS), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He holds professorships at multiple institutions, including the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (CAS) and Tsinghua University. His research focuses on synthetic biology, yeast genetics, and genome engineering. He is a key member of the synthetic yeast consortium (Sc2.0) and directs the Center for GP-write China and Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Synthetic Genomics.

Education: BSc in Biology (Nanjing University, 1997), MSc in Cell Biology (Tsinghua University, 2000), PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (Iowa State University, 2006). Postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University (2006-2011).

Research interests emphasize synthetic genomics, gene synthesis, and chromosome engineering. His group synthesized yeast chromosomes IV, XII, and XV. Recent publications (2024) highlight advancements in genomic rearrangements, synthetic chromosome design, and 3D genome organization manipulation.
