Dr. Stephanie Heimgartner is a Lecturer in Comparative Literature at the Department of Comparative Literature, Ruhr University Bochum. She has held roles such as Representative for Practice and Transfer in Teaching (2019–2022) and Head of the Office for Strategic Teaching Projects (2022–2023). Her research focuses include literary theory, translation studies, and postcolonial literature. She earned her doctorate in Heidelberg (1998) and has extensive editorial experience.
Education: Studied German, Italian, and Political Science at Heidelberg University, University of Bologna, and Dalhousie University (Canada). Doctorate from Heidelberg University (1998).
Research Interests: History of poetry, translation theory, German-Italian literary relations, feminist critique, and Afropolitan narratives. She has published widely on Dante, Ungaretti, and contemporary postcolonial authors.
