Stephanie Casey Pierce is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Administration in the Department of Political Science at the University of Tennessee, with a joint appointment as Faculty Fellow at the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy. She researches housing instability—evictions, foreclosures, and homelessness—and its relationship with social and economic inequality.
Research examines:
- Administrative barriers in housing assistance programs
- Policy implementation disparities
- Eviction's racial and economic dimensions
Prior to academia, Pierce managed Ohio's foreclosure prevention program at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, serving as Director of Homeownership Preservation. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Ohio State University (2020).
