Stephanie Carlson is an Extension Assistant Professor at Utah State University serving Weber County. She focuses on community education in self-defense, emergency preparedness, tai chi, personal finance, and food safety.

Research & Teaching Interests:
Carlson’s work centers on translating evidence-based practices into accessible community programs. She teaches practical self-defense strategies, tai chi for fall prevention, and personal finance literacy. Her emergency-preparedness curricula help households and small businesses build resilience against disasters, while her food preservation and safety workshops reduce food waste and enhance public health.

Outreach & Grants:

Labs & Teams:
While not housed in a traditional laboratory, Carlson collaborates with multidisciplinary Extension teams, including health educators, nutritionists, and emergency-management specialists, to deliver evidence-based community programs.
