Stephanie Armes is an Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy and Director of MFT Internships at Seattle Pacific University (SPU) since 2019. She is affiliated with the School of Psychology, Family & Community.

Her research focuses on primary (PTSD) and secondary traumatic stress (STS), examining how trauma impacts therapists, couples, and communities. Her work aims to improve therapist resiliency and inform global mental health practices.
Her recent publications span topics including therapist impairment, Cambodian trauma contexts, veteran homelessness, and cultural sensitivity in mental health assessments. These works emphasize cross-cultural and trauma-informed approaches.
Stephanie collaborates with international teams, including Project Family Georgia, LLC, and contributes to initiatives like the Living Well Initiative at SPU. She has clinical experience in university clinics in Lexington, KY, and Athens, GA.
