Stephanie Albin is an Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitative & Health Sciences at Regis University, affiliated with the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. She holds certifications as a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy. Dr. Albin earned her Master of Physical Therapy (2003) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (2005) from the University of Utah, followed by a PhD in Rehabilitative Science. Her primary research focuses on foot/ankle injuries and spinal cord injury recovery, supported by over $1M in grants from the Department of Defense and NIH. She currently serves as Vice President and Education Chair of the Foot and Ankle Special Interest Group.
Her research explores manual therapy efficacy, muscle stiffness measurement (using myotonometry and ultrasound), and MRI biomarkers for spinal cord injury prognosis. Recent studies emphasize predictive spinal cord imaging, whiplash recovery trajectories, and surgical outcomes for ankle replacements. Articles highlight clinical applications in orthopedic manual therapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and military cadet biomechanics.
