Stephani Gharehptian

Stephani Gharehptian is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California (USC) Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, affiliated with the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) in Los Angeles. She holds dual degrees in Occupational Therapy from USC (Master of Arts and OTD) and completed a fellowship with the California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Training Program (CA-LEND). Her clinical work focuses on providing individualized occupational therapy services to children and adolescents with mental health diagnoses, including fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). She emphasizes culturally inclusive care, particularly supporting monolingual Spanish-speaking families.

Dr. Gharehptian’s expertise includes program development for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and FASD, as well as advocating for occupational therapy’s role in pediatric mental health. She collaborates within interdisciplinary teams to address systemic gaps in healthcare access and equity. Her clinical residency at VIP solidified her commitment to community-based mental health interventions.
