Dr. Stephan Torre is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, affiliated with the School of Divinity, History, Philosophy & Art History. He holds a PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2008) under Phillip Bricker, with prior positions as a Junior Research Fellow at Oriel College, Oxford, and a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Barcelona’s LOGOS group. His research focuses on two core areas: first-person thought (de se content, self-ascription, and communication) and philosophy of time (temporal ontology, the open future, and the metaphysics of possibility). He has led projects like the Leverhulme International Network on First-Person Thought and publishes in top journals like Philosophical Studies and Australasian Journal of Philosophy. He supervises PhD students in metaphysics and philosophy of mind.
