Stephan Schneider

Prof. Dr. Stephan Schneider holds the position of Professor of Animal Nutrition and leads the Tachenhausen/Jungborn Teaching and Research Farm at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Umwelt (HfWU). He graduated as a state-certified farmer and earned a degree in agriculture from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences. His PhD from TU Munich focused on carbon isotope analysis for authenticity testing in pasture-based milk production. Prior to joining HfWU in 2021, he served as Head of the Centre for Pig Breeding and Farming in Upper Bavaria (2012–2017) and led the Pig Feeding and Network Consulting Department at the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture’s Institute of Animal Nutrition and Feed Management (2017–2021).

His research emphasizes sustainable agricultural practices, carbon flow dynamics in livestock systems, and innovative methods for verifying product origins. He integrates applied research into teaching through the Tachenhausen/Jungborn facility, fostering practical education in animal nutrition and feed management.

Prof. Schneider’s work bridges academic and industrial collaboration, focusing on translational solutions for modern agricultural challenges. He maintains affiliations with regional and national agricultural research networks, contributing to policy and industry practices.
