Stephan Moore

Stephan Moore (he/him) is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University's School of Communication. His work bridges performance, interactive systems, and sonic environments, utilizing field recording, audio spatialization, and generative compositions.

Moore explores sound creation through collaborative projects like the Chicago Laboratory for Electro-Acoustic Theater and the Sonic Innovations exhibition. His research spans sound art, human-machine interaction, and media production.

He has been recognized with the Charles Deering McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence award and a Bessie Honoree for his soundtrack contributions. His work extends to curating outdoor sound art and touring with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company (2004–2010).
