Stephan Leuthold is a Professor of Organ and Improvisation at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen since 2017, alongside serving as Domorganist in Bremen since 2014. His expertise spans organ performance, historical music, and improvisation.
Education: Studied Kirchenmusik, Organ, Harpsichord, Baroque Music, Thoroughbass, and Improvisation at institutions in Dresden, Hannover, Stuttgart, and Trossingen. Notable teachers include Dietrich Wagler, Prof. Ulrich Bremsteller, Prof. Bernhard Haas (Organ), and Jon Laukvik/Carsten Lorenz (Harpsichord).
Research/Artistic Focus: Specializes in organ performance practice, improvisation techniques, and historical instrumentation. Active in recording projects, including 2020's Sauer-Orgel performance and 2021's Bremer Dom multi-organ recordings.
