Stephan Anderson

Stephan Anderson is a Professor of Radiology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Section Chief of Abdominal Imaging at Boston University Medical Center. He holds affiliations with the Department of Mechanical Engineering (College of Engineering) and the BU-BMC Cancer Center. His primary roles include directing computed tomography (CT) and general radiology at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Anderson completed his MD at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and earned a BS from the University of Delaware. He specialized in abdominal imaging via a fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Research focuses on abdominal imaging, liver disease quantification, and biomedical engineering applications in radiology. Notable contributions include innovations in MRI technology using metamaterials and wireless sensor systems. He has authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, emphasizing imaging advancements for thoracoabdominal malignancies and trauma.
