Stephan A. Carey

Stephan A. Carey is a Professor and Associate Chairperson in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on respiratory effects of air pollutants, comparative respiratory pathology, and pediatric pulmonary susceptibility.

Dr. Carey leads the Carey Laboratory, which specializes in clinical research for small domestic animals with particular emphasis on pleural effusions, oropharyngeal flora, and hepatic masses. His work utilizes state-of-the-art techniques including 3-D airway modeling, computer-assisted morphometry, immunohistochemistry, and airway antioxidant analyses.
