Steph Schwarze

Steph Schwarze serves as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health and Department of Nursing and Midwifery. Appointed in July 2020, this marks her first substantive academic role following a clinical career spanning over two decades in acute hospital settings, with specialized expertise in Adult Intensive Care and Critical Care.

Her educational background includes qualifying as a nurse in 1999, completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice, and currently pursuing an MA in Education to advance her pedagogical skills. Key research interests encompass Adult Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Trauma Nursing, and innovative Nursing Education methodologies emphasizing simulation and case-based learning.

As a Personal Academic Tutor, she mentors undergraduate nursing students through their developmental journeys while teaching multiple modules in the Undergraduate Nursing Programme. Previously, she instructed Post-Graduate Intensive Care Courses at City University, London (2020-2021) and served eight years as a Practice Development Nurse at the Royal London Hospital's Adult Critical Care Unit.
