Sten Littmann

Sten Littmann is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, affiliated with the Department of Biogeochemistry under Prof. Dr. Marcel Kuypers. His work focuses on advanced imaging and isotopic analysis of microorganisms using cutting-edge techniques.

Research Interests: He specializes in mapping the isotopic composition of stable isotope-labeled single cells via Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) with high lateral resolution. Additionally, he employs Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy for microorganism imaging and microanalysis.
