Stella Bruzzi is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and Professor of Film at University College London (UCL) since 2017. Previously, she held positions at the University of Manchester, Royal Holloway (University of London), and the University of Warwick, where she served as Chair of the Faculty of Arts from 2008–2011. She is a Fellow of the British Academy (2013).
- Education: PhD in Film Studies (University of Bristol, 1993), BA in Arts (University of Manchester, 1985)
Her research focuses on costume in cinema, documentary film theory, gender studies in Hollywood, and historical representations. Major publications include foundational works like Undressing Cinema (1998) and Approximation (2020). She is fluent in Italian and actively contributes to academic governance and interdisciplinary research.
From 2024–2026, she will serve as Distinguished Visiting Professor at City University, Hong Kong.
