Dr. Stelios Charalambides is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Nicosia (NUP). He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics, M.Sc. in Algebra, and Ph.D. in Rings and Modules. With 21 years of teaching and research experience, he has taught across secondary and tertiary levels in seven universities and two colleges across three continents. His research focuses on Lie algebras applications to integrable systems, ring theory (torsion theories, injectivity), and module properties (extending, Noetherian modules). He has authored a book, a chapter, and six peer-reviewed articles, with contributions to algebraic structures and mathematical physics. His work spans international conferences and collaborations. Currently, he contributes to the Department of Mathematics at NUP.
- Education:
- B.Sc. Mathematics
- M.Sc. Algebra
- Ph.D. Rings and Modules (University of Otago)
Research Interests: His primary areas include torsion theory, Lie algebra applications in integrable systems, and module properties such as injectivity and extending modules. He explores algebraic structures and their applications in mathematical physics, with recent work on τ-injective modules and generalized Volterra systems.
Publications: His articles focus on algebraic structures (e.g., Themes in torsion theory), integrable systems (Generalized Lotka-Volterra systems), and Lie algebra applications (so(p,q) Toda systems). These studies bridge abstract algebra with dynamical systems and mathematical physics.
Grants & Labs: No specific grants or labs mentioned in the text.
