Prof. Dr. Steffi Morkötter serves as Professor of Foreign Language Didactics within the Department of Foreign Language Didactics at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Rostock. Based in Room 214 of the Philologicum building at Universitätsplatz 3, she maintains active academic engagement through research leadership and student supervision.
Her research centers on transformative approaches to language education, with primary focus areas including:
- Multilingualism integration in foreign language curricula
- Culture-sensitive pedagogical frameworks for French instruction
- Development of teaching modules for initial language acquisition phases
- Interdisciplinary connections between linguistics and educational psychology
Prof. Morkötter currently leads the MEMO project (Modules for foreign language teaching that promote multilingualism), which pioneers language- and culture-sensitive approaches to French instruction. Her research demonstrates consistent emphasis on practical application in teacher training contexts and cross-cultural educational design.
Office hours for summer semester 2025 lecture-free period are scheduled for July 30 (10:00-12:00), August 12 (12:00-14:00), and October 8 (10:00-12:00) at August-Bebelstraße 28, with additional online appointments available by email arrangement.
