معرفی
Steffen Schlueter is a Senior Researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), affiliated with the Department of Soil System Science under the Ecosystems of the Future research unit. His work focuses on soil structure, imaging technologies, and ecological interactions. He holds a Habilitation in Soil Science from Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and a PhD from TU Dresden, with postdoctoral research at UFZ and international institutions.
Education highlights include a diploma in Geography with a focus on physical geography, soil science, and hydrology from TU Dresden, along with advanced studies in soil physics at UFZ. His academic journey includes a Humboldt fellowship and international collaborations in the US and Australia.
Research interests span 3D imaging, pore-scale fluid dynamics, and soil-carbon dynamics. Key projects include the GLIMPSE initiative on microbiota-plant-soil interactions and DFG-funded studies on denitrification and soil structure turnover. He leads the Soil Structure and Function research group, contributing to global datasets on soil biodiversity and microbial responses to climate extremes.
Publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches, integrating microbiology, remote sensing, and climate science. Collaborations with institutions like the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) highlight his role in advancing sustainable land management strategies under climate change.
