His work focuses on the political economy of money and finance, particularly examining private credit money accommodation, the international monetary system, European Monetary Union dynamics, and macro-financial governance for large-scale transformations like the Green Transition.
- PhD in International Political Economy from City, University of London (2017)
- BSc in Economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (2011)
- Magister Artium in Political Science, Philosophy, and International Law from LMU München (2012)
His research integrates critical macro-finance frameworks, analyzing monetary architectures as hierarchical balance sheet networks. Current projects explore off-balance-sheet fiscal agencies (OBFAs) in wars, reconstruction, and sustainability transitions, arguing that such entities combine fiscal and monetary functions to enable large-scale financing while facing inherent governance challenges.
Recent publications examine topics like the Green Transition's financial demands, TARGET system dynamics in EMU, and the politics of monetary sovereignty in a globalized credit money system. He has held postdoctoral positions at Harvard University, Boston University, and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies, and taught at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and City, University of London.
