Stefano Toso is a Full Professor of Public Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna. He holds degrees from the University of Bologna (Political Sciences, 1985), University of Warwick (M.A. in Economics, 1988), and the University of Bologna (Ph.D. in Economics, 1992). His research focuses on inequality, poverty, welfare state policies, and taxation. He has contributed to EU-funded projects like EUROMOD (2000–2003) and MICRESA (2003–2006), and advised institutions such as ISTAT on poverty measurement. He is affiliated with the Centre for Analysis of Public Policies (CAPP) and the Ermanno Gorrieri Foundation.
