Stefano Tiziani

Stefano Tiziani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin and holds courtesy appointments in the Department of Oncology and Department of Pediatrics at Dell Medical School. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Structural Biology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a full member of the Livestrong Cancer Institutes.

Research Interests: Dr. Tiziani specializes in translational chemical biology using metabolomics-based systems biology to discover metabolic biomarkers. His work integrates high-throughput screening, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and metabolic flux analysis to study drug-nutrient interactions in cancer and noncancer conditions. Key areas include synergistic combinatorial therapies, metabolic vulnerabilities, and bio-mechanistic understanding of nutrient modulation.

Publications: His recent work explores chiral metabolomics, oncometabolites, mitochondrial transporters, and drug synergy in hematological malignancies. His lab has developed novel high-throughput screening methods and untargeted metabolomics protocols to accelerate cancer vulnerability identification.
