Stefano Sacha Adamo serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Romance Studies, Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka, specializing in Italian culture since his 2021 appointment. His teaching portfolio spans History of Italian Culture, Modern Italian, Academic Writing in Italian, and specialized courses on Italian literature, cinema, and cultural history.
His research critically examines intersections between Italian cultural production and socioeconomic phenomena, with particular focus on cinematic representations of the Mafia, analyses of the Italian Economic Miracle, and economic thought in literary works. Methodologically interdisciplinary, he bridges film studies, literary criticism, and economic history to explore how cultural narratives shape and reflect societal transformations.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals consistent engagement with Italy's historical and contemporary socioeconomic challenges through cultural artifacts. His work demonstrates how cinema and literature process collective experiences—from post-war reconstruction to financial crises—while exposing limitations in mainstream economic narratives. This scholarship forms a distinctive critical framework connecting humanities with social sciences.
Professor Adamo leads the Erasmus+ project "Europe of languages, cultures and societies through youth cinema" (2022-2024), developing innovative academic programs for European cinema education through university-professional-civil society collaboration. With a 75,299 BAM budget, this initiative advances transnational educational frameworks while positioning him at the forefront of cinema studies pedagogy.
His scholarly contributions establish him as a significant voice in Italian cultural studies, particularly through his critical examination of cinema's role in mediating economic history and social change.
