Stefano Gatti is a Professor of Practice in Finance at Bocconi University, holding the Antin Infrastructure Partners Chair of Infrastructure Financing within the SDA Bocconi School of Management. He previously directed the full-time MBA program (2015–2017) and the International Teachers’ Program. His professional roles include board directorships, investment committee memberships, and consultancy for institutions like the OECD and World Banks. He has received the Best Teacher Award multiple times.
Research focuses on banking, financial intermediation, and the intersection of finance with infrastructure investing. Key themes include project finance structuring, M&A earnouts, and corporate governance impacts on debt contracts. He co-authored influential works on public-private partnerships and infrastructure disruption challenges.
Teaching spans Master’s and MBA programs, including courses like 'Structured and Project Finance' and 'Project Finance for Green Business'. His work bridges academic rigor with practical finance solutions, advising corporations and policymakers on infrastructure financing strategies.
Notable publications include analyses of asset encumbrance effects on bank risk (2023), PPP adverse selection solutions (2022), and enforcement quality in M&A earnouts (2021).
