معرفی
Dr. Stefanie Rieger is a GIS and Geological Remote Sensing specialist affiliated with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich). Her research focuses on quantifying vertical surface deformation across varying spatial and temporal scales to understand subsurface tectonic processes.
- PhD in Geology (2016, LMU Munich)
- Diplom in Geography (2006, LMU Munich)
She employs advanced techniques like Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) and Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) for contemporary deformation studies, achieving millimeter-per-year precision over regional areas. Long-term deformation patterns (millennial to million-year scales) are analyzed through river profiles, paleo-shorelines, and Neogene sedimentary rocks.
Her work integrates geological data mapping and the plume-stratigraphic framework (Friedrich et al., 2017) to reconstruct paleo-topography. She also manages geological data and maintains geologic map collections at LMU Munich.
