Matthias Paulsen is affiliated with the Mathematical Institute at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU Munich). He has since moved to Leibniz University Hannover, where his new website can be found. His research focuses on algebraic geometry, Hodge theory, and number theory, with particular emphasis on Hodge numbers, rationality questions of algebraic varieties, and fixed point theorems. He has contributed to the understanding of quadric surface bundles and Noether-Lefschetz loci density, while also exploring computational aspects of algebraic number theory and dynamical systems. Paulsen has taught specialized courses such as a reading course on Fourier-Mukai transforms. His work bridges pure mathematics disciplines, combining geometric and arithmetic approaches.
- Education:
- Master's thesis: Density of Noether–Lefschetz loci and rationality of quadric surface bundles, LMU Munich (2018)
- Bachelor's thesis: Computation of (S,T)-units, LMU Munich (2017)
- Research Group: Algebraic Geometry Working Group
His publications span topics in algebraic geometry, number theory, and functional analysis, reflecting a versatile expertise in both theoretical and computational mathematics.
