Stefanie Hollenbach

Stefanie Hollenbach, M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group and practices at multiple locations including Highland Perinatal Center and Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinics. Her clinical expertise includes maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive genetics, and high-risk obstetrics.

Dr. Hollenbach's research focuses on placental physiology, epidemiology of pregnancy outcomes, and the intersection of social determinants with healthcare disparities. Notable projects include placental elastography, quantification of transplacental cell exchange, and analyzing the impact of environmental factors like endocrine disruptors on pregnancy. She has received grants from the Mae Stone Goode Foundation and NIH, and her work has been recognized with awards such as the President’s Presenter’s Award (2020) and the Ward L. Ekas Award (2017).

Her education includes an MD from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester. She completed residency and fellowship in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Hollenbach also holds leadership roles, including Course Director for the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Elective Clerkship and Director of Regional Perinatal Outreach in New York.
