معرفی
Mancy Tong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences (2012) and a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2017) from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. After completing her postdoctoral training at Yale (2017–2020), she joined the faculty in 2020.
Her research focuses on understanding how viral infections and inflammation impact endometrial function and placental development, with direct implications for pregnancy outcomes. Key areas include fetal membrane inflammation, immunological tolerance mechanisms, and the interplay between viral and bacterial pathogens during gestation.
Dr. Tong is an active member of the Society for Reproductive Investigation and the International Federation of Placenta Associations. She serves as an ad hoc reviewer for multiple journals in reproductive sciences. Notable awards include the Pfizer President’s Presenter’s Award (2020), Elsevier Trophoblast Research New Investigator Award (2018), and NIH New Investigator Travel Awards (2018).
Her work integrates molecular immunology, placental biology, and clinical translation. Current projects explore miRNA-mediated inflammatory pathways, viral-bacterial co-infection dynamics, and placental extracellular vesicle signaling in preeclampsia. Collaborators include Vikki Abrahams, Seth Guller, and Alyssa Grimshaw.
Dr. Tong is affiliated with Yale’s Human and Translational Immunology Program, Janeway Society, and Reproductive Sciences Program in Translational Biomedicine. She contributes to interdisciplinary teams studying maternal-fetal immunity and translational biomedical research.
