Stefania Marino is a Senior Lecturer in Employment Studies at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), University of Manchester. She previously held roles at the University of Milan as a Research Associate, the University of Bologna as a Teaching Fellow, and visited the University of Amsterdam during her doctoral studies. Her research focuses on labour sociology, international migration, and industrial relations with an emphasis on comparative and international perspectives.
Key affiliations include co-leadership of the IILME Standing Committee within IMISCOE and membership in the ESRC Peer Review College and the Higher Education Academy. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly through the Work and Equalities Institute.
Research interests center on trade union strategies for migrant and precarious workers, labour market regulation, and social inclusion. Notable projects include an ESRC-funded fellowship (2012–2015) examining union strategies in the UK, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain.
