Prof. Stefania Baroncelli is a Full Professor of Public and European Union Law at the Faculty of Economics of the Free University of Bolzano. Her research focuses on constitutional law, EU integration, regional autonomy (particularly the South Tyrol case), minority rights, and linguistic pluralism. She actively contributes to EU policy analysis, including the Recovery and Resilience Facility and ECB governance.
Teaching includes courses on European Administrative Law, Public Law fundamentals, and academic writing. She is part of the Jean Monnet Network PROSPER, a EU-funded initiative uniting 12 universities across Europe to study institutional challenges. Her work bridges legal theory and practice, addressing issues such as judicial review of ECB actions, differentiated governance in crises, and inclusion policies in education.
Recent contributions highlight her role in conferences like the EUniverCities event in Bolzano (April 2025), emphasizing universities as local development actors. Her research often examines the interplay between EU law and regional autonomy frameworks, with a focus on South Tyrol's Special Statute and minority protection mechanisms.
