Stefan Wolter

Prof. Stefan Wolter is an Adjunct Professor of Education Economics at the University of Bern and serves as Director of the Swiss Coordination Centre for Educational Research (SKBF|CSRE). He co-directs the Leading House on Economics of Education, Firm Behaviour, and Training Policies. His professional history includes roles as Head of Labor Market Policy at the Swiss Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Labour, Chief Economist at the Federal Office of Industry, Trade and Labour, and Senior Economist at UBS Zurich.

Wolter's research focuses on labor economics, economics of education, vocational training systems, and educational policy. His work examines apprenticeship profitability, gender disparities in career choices, impacts of instructional time, and automation risks. Recent publications emphasize empirical analyses of educational trajectories, labor market effects of continuous education, and AI's influence on occupational decisions.
