Stefan Pettersson

Stefan Pettersson is an Adjunct Professor in Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. He is also the Research Manager of the Electromobility application area at RISE Viktoria, leading a group of over twenty researchers and overseeing more than 30 annual projects addressing technology, human behavior, business, and societal perspectives in mobility. His work focuses on energy management for hybrid powertrains and advancing fossil-free transport systems.

Stefan’s research spans Control Engineering, Electromobility, and Energy Management, with an emphasis on sustainable transportation solutions. His leadership roles include guiding RISE Viktoria’s Electromobility initiatives and participating in Chalmers’ department council discussions on future research directions.

At RISE Viktoria, Stefan leads a multidisciplinary team conducting over 30 projects annually, integrating technical, behavioral, and strategic approaches to mobility. He also oversees RISE’s Energy and Environment for Mobility focus area, aligning industry needs with collaborative projects toward a fossil-free transport system.
